Based on the Royal Commission for Riyadh City developed the Green Riyadh Strategy. The driver of the strategy is to increase the livability of the city in order to increase the health and wellbeing of citizens. Over the next decade, 7.5 million new trees will be planted, 3,300 new parks and gardens will be created across 160 neighborhoods, 48 city-scale parks will be developed, and thousands of schools, mosques, hospitals, and other facilities will be greened.
As Part of this program, Qurtubah and Al-Jazeerah Neighborhoods in Riyadh represent to be greened. As such, it is intended that they will exemplify the goals of the Green Riyadh Strategy.
